Head Teacher: Jo Sassienie – see Meet our Head Teacher page
Deputy Head Teacher: Helen Graff
Helen is an experienced teacher and school leader with a particular passion for Science, who joined Eden in February 2016. She has extensive teaching experience across the primary age range and has played leading roles in many important aspects of teaching, learning and assessment. Helen previously worked at primary schools in Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Camden and has been a Deputy Head since 1998. Helen holds the NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship), PGCE and has a degree in English Literature from York University. At Eden she holds particular responsibility for assessment, day-to-day school organisation and science. She is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. This year she is teaching in Year 6 and Year 2 and has a wider role leading learning in every class.
Inclusion Leader: Meera Pow
Meera joined Eden in December 2020 as SENCo and Inclusion Lead and member of the Senior Leadership Team, having taught in Haringey schools for the past 4 years. Meera previously worked in retail as a fashion buyer, and changed career paths to complete a SEND route PGCE at UCL Institute of Education which fuelled her passion for working with children with SEND. This led her to undertake the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination at UCL Institute of Education in 2019 and move into the role of SENCo and Inclusion Lead.
School Business Manager: Deniz Ozturk
Deniz joined the school in December 2017 as the School Business Manager and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. She has experience working in Secondary Schools including Fortismere School, where she had the role of Exams and Data Manager. She has also worked at Southgate School and Highgate Wood School.Deniz holds a BA Hons in Business Administration and a Level 4 Diploma in School Business Management. At Eden Deniz has particular responsibility for the organisation of the school to ensure best standards for teaching and learning, including budget management, facility management and administration.
School Admissions and Administration: Andrea Collett
Andrea joined Eden in 2014 and is the School Administrator with responsibility for Admissions, as well as supporting the Senior Leadership Team, Eden parents, children and staff. After a career as a TV producer in documentaries and social action programming, she managed a mental health charity and clinical service in Haringey. She has been a primary school governor, and is active in Jewish communal voluntary and educational work, including running workshops in schools and as an ambassador for Jewish Women’s Aid. Andrea studied Drama and Theatre Arts at London University (New College of Speech of Drama).
Administrative Assistant: Tsvetelina Miteva
This is Lina’s second year as part-time Administrative Assistant, providing support in school administration and finance and working across the full range of administrative needs in the school. She was previously an Admin volunteer at George Spicer Primary School. Lina has worked as a Systems and Operation Analyst at NYSE and as an Administrator at Lombard Risk Management and Gas Strategies Group. Lina holds a Masters degree in IT and BSc in Economics and Computer Science.
Reception (Garinim) Teachers: Paula Granger and Sara Marshall
Sara joined Eden in September 2017 after qualifying as a teacher and earning her PGCE in Primary Education at LSJS. She holds a BA in English and American Literature from Manchester Metropolitan University. Sara also has a deep interest in Science, particularly in Physics. She has also received specialist training at CERN with the programme Playing with Protons during the summer holidays in 2018.
Year 1 (Shorashim) Teacher: Yifat Johnson
Yifat graduated from the School Direct programme as a qualified primary school teacher in the UK in July 2015. She is the full time Reception teacher. Yifat started her work at Eden from the very first year at 2011 as a Teaching Assistant and Hebrew teacher in the Reception class. She also has a Bachelor of Education from Seminar Hakibbutzim in Tel Aviv. Yifat also leads on Jewish Studies across the school.
Year 2 (Shtillim) Teacher: Julian Silverman
Julian joined Eden in September 2019 after completing his Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Primary and Music) at the UCL Institute of Education. Previously, he taught alongside qualified teachers in the Education Department at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour London. He has a background in music and theatre and enjoys incorporating these subjects throughout his practice. He holds a BMus Music from Goldsmiths University of London. This is Julian’s second year of teaching Year 2.
Year 3 (Anafim) Teachers: Liz Apfel, Martin Lubich
Liz is in her third year at Eden having taught Year 5 and then Year 3 last year. She previously taught at Rosh Pinah Primary School. She completed her training three years ago at the LSJS fulfilling a life-long wish to become a teacher. She previously practised as a Barrister and consulted and worked for a number of charities and companies in PR and Marketing. She has a BA Hons in History, MSc Econs in International Relations and a Diploma in Law. She is responsible for Maths in KS2.
Martin is an extremely experienced and successful class teacher who has worked extensively in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and has also taught children up to Year 6. He has significant experience in School Leadership and Management and has been a Deputy Head and a Headteacher.Martin has a degree in Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics, a PGCE with specialisation in Maths, and qualifications in School Leadership. He has a strong background in Judaism and Hebrew and this is his seventh year at Eden.
Year 4 (Nitzanim) Frankie Stubbs
Frankie joined Eden in September 2019 having previously been Jewish Studies Coordinator and training in year three at Clore Shalom Primary School. She completed the Schools Direct programme at LSJS. She has a passion for Jewish Education and youth work having grown up in the Reform Youth Movement and worked for the Reform Synagogues. She is very excited to be teaching Nitzanim for the second year.
Year 5 (Prachim) Teacher: Megan Greene
Megan has worked at Eden for the last four years as a Teaching Assistant and unqualified teacher in a variety of classes. Last year she qualified as a teacher on the School Direct programme and is now teaching for the second year in Nitzanim, Year 4 where she previously worked as a trainee. Megan has a degree in Modern Languages (Russian, French and Czech) and a Masters degree in International Development Management. Megan is a talented musician and plays a leading role in developing and teaching the music curriculum and choirs at Eden. She has a passion for environmental education and gardening.
Year 6 Teacher: Laura Proffitt
Laura is in her 6th year of teaching and has worked in Years 4, 5 and 6 at Eden. She has a degree in Ancient History, a Masters in Classics, a PhD in Ancient History and Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Primary Education and English. Previously she has worked as a lecturer and researcher and as a specialist in antiquities working in Auctioneering. She is responsible for the Humanities at Eden and is a keen gardener and dressmaker.
Studio Teacher: Laura Fox
Laura is an artist and educator who works in every class with the class teachers enabling the children to use creative languages and materials to deepen their learning across the curriculum. As an artist, she brings a unique set of skills and is committed to working across the school community to develop creativity and artistic skills in the school environment. Laura plays a leading role in embedding the inspiration and ideas of Reggio Emilia at Eden. Laura has a Masters Degree in Art Education from the Institute of Education.
Hebrew Teacher: Eli Abu
Eli Abu teaches Hebrew to all ages across the school. He joined Eden with a wealth of teaching experience last year having worked at Rosh Pinah Primary school for 15 years and before that at JFS.
Teacher: Santiago Perez-Rodriguez
Santi is currently working as a part-time teacher to various ages across the school. He joined Eden in 2016.
Teaching Assistant: Justyna Krzychowiec
Justyna has worked at Eden as a Teaching Assistant, SMSA and supporting children with SEN across the school since 2014. Justyna is currently working full-time as a Higher Teaching Assistant in Garinim -Reception. She also works in the playground at lunchtime. Justyna has a BA in teaching English as a Foreign Language, a MA degree in Translation and a MSc in Management and Marketing.
Teaching Assistant & Breakfast Club: Barbara Komlos
Barbara has worked at Eden for the last seven years. This year she will continue to work as a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 2. Barbara has a background in media and experience in catering. She has completed the ELSA training course and supervision sessions and is a certified Emotional Literacy Support Assistant.
Teaching Assistant, Breakfast Club and SMSA: : Zsuzsanna Decsák
Zsuzsanna joined Eden Primary in September 2016 working in Café Eden supporting a child with particular medical needs. She had previously been working in education in Budapest and London for several years. She has a Masters degree in Russian Language and Literature from University of Pécs, Hungary and CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Zsuzsanna currently works as a Teaching Assistant in Year 1, as a School Meals Supervisory Assistant with diabetes care in Café Eden and in Breakfast Club.
SEN Teaching Assistant: Grace Park
Grace joined Eden in 2017 and she supports children with SEN in Year 4. She has worked as an Early Years professional in both Seoul in South Korea and London for 15 years, and she holds a BA degree in Early Childhood Education. Eden is her third experience of working in Jewish schools and she values the ethos of Jewish school education highly.
Teaching Assistant, Breakfast Club and After School Provision (ASP): Lucie Chromkova
This is Lucie’s third year as a teaching assistant at Eden, having previously worked as a volunteer reading and working with children in key stage 1. She currently works in Year 4 and is studying for the CACHE TA course level 3 and has completed introductory training in Adverse Childhood Experiences. Lucie worked as a summer camp leader in the Czech Republic for four years and came to the UK to study and work as an au pair and with children.
Teaching Assistant and After School Provision (ASP): Azania Hammond-Dallas
Azania joined Eden in March 2018, she works 1-1 as a TA. Eden is her first school setting though she has 10 years experience working with children and young people with a range of ages and learning abilities by using performing arts and media to engage and express self and ideas. Azania has always had a passion for working with young people and helping them to reach their highest ability. She is currently working in Year 3 as well as in Breakfast Club and After School provision.
Premises and Security
Premises Manager: Moses Kirosingh
Moses is the full time Premises Manager using a wide range of skills originally learned in the building trade. His premises responsibilities include all aspects of premises and buildings maintenance and management including security. Moses also has responsibility for managing lettings and rentals. Last year Moses was given a special award in recognition of excellence in support staff in schools from PaJes (Partnerships for Jewish Schools).
Security Officer: Charlie Gungl
Catering – Cafe Eden
Chef: Martyne Burman
Martyne runs the catering company Cooking Crew, and is Head Chef managing a small team in the kitchen at Cafe Eden. She creates lunch menus which ensure that every child enjoys a tasty and nutritious lunch each day. Since Eden opened in 2011 Martyne and her crew have provided 324,000 delicious lunches for Eden children!
